Karen Frazier, LMT
Founder, Executive Director
Karen is a multi-state licensed massage therapist with almost three decades of experience as a practitioner, educator, and wellness consultant. In private practice since 1998, she specializes in repetitive strain injuries, injury rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. She has provided wellness consulting in both the private and corporate sectors. As an educator, she founded therapeutic massage programs at both Brightpoint and Southside Virginia Community Colleges.
Karen's leadership extends well beyond the classroom. She was appointed to the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy by Governor Andy Beshear in 2022, and reappointed in 2025. Currently Vice Chair, she serves on the Applications, Education, and Regulations Review Committees. In 2023, she was elected to the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) Board of Directors. This work keeps her current on the standards, regulations, and expectations future massage therapists are required to meet.
Karen believes education should do more than prepare students to pass an exam. The Institute of Integrated Therapies offers an evidence-based curriculum that honors the ancient legacy of therapeutic massage. Her goal is to develop skilled, ethical, career-ready practitioners who serve their clients and the industry with unwavering integrity and professionalism.

Our Instructors
Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
At the Institute of Integrated Therapies, you'll learn from a team as varied as the clients you'll one day serve. Our instructors bring decades of combined hands-on experience across clinical, therapeutic, and wellness-focused massage, and each brings a different strength and personality to the classroom. One may sharpen your anatomy with precision and patience, while another dazzles you with masterful technique.
Beyond the sciences and hands-on skills, our educators are subject matter experts in business, marketing, traditional and independent employment, licensing, and regulation. That means you'll graduate knowing more than how to give a great massage. You'll understand how to build a career, whether you join an established practice or open your own. What our team shares is a passion for the work and a commitment to helping every student find their own path in this profession.
